PAY: $73.05 - $77.24 /hr BOE, EOE
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Pharmacist will be reporting to the Pharmacy Director and will be working closely with a team of tenured pharmacy technicians. Independently reviews and assesses medication orders to identify, prevent, and resolve potential and actual drug-related problems. Contacts physicians, nurses and other professionals as necessary to facilitate care. Manages drug therapy protocols as part of physician-pharmacist-nurse team.
Performs specialized order entry functions and maintains pharmaceutical care documentation.
Responds to questions from physicians and nursing staff and patients regarding medicines and pharmaceuticals.
Monitors individual patient drug therapy for medication safety and appropriateness.
Monitors and updates charge system for drugs and pharmaceutical services.
Documents drug therapy clinical interventions, medication errors, and adverse drug reaction events per pharmacy operational protocol.
Responsible for overseeing the work/duties of the pharmacy technicians, the functions of the IV cleanroom, and doing final verification for IV preparations.
