*About the Opportunity*
Medical Eye Center is seeking a full-time Optometrist (O.D.) licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the State of Oregon to join our established, thriving, multi-specialty team in Southern Oregon.
Serving the Southern Oregon for over 100 years, Medical Eye Center has been a regional leader in comprehensive ophthalmology and subspecialty surgical care. Our collaborative provider team includes fellowship-trained ophthalmologists across multiple subspecialties and residency-trained optometrists committed to excellence in medical and surgical co-management.
This role offers the opportunity to practice full-scope optometry in a medically oriented setting, including primary eye care, ocular disease management, perioperative care, and collaborative treatment planning. We are seeking a confident, growth-minded clinician who values accountability, teamwork, and high standards of patient care.
*Who You Are*
* Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited optometry program
* Active Oregon license (or eligible for licensure) and in good standing
* 3+ years of clinical experience preferred (residency training highly valued; new graduates with strong clinical training encouraged to apply)
* Experienced in comprehensive eye exams, refractive care, and contact lens fittings (including specialty lenses preferred)
* Comfortable diagnosing and managing ocular disease, including glaucoma, dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, and macular degeneration
* Skilled in pre- and post-operative surgical co-management (cataract and refractive surgery experience preferred)
* Proficient in interpreting OCT, visual fields, fundus photography, and other diagnostic imaging
* Committed to evidence-based medicine and high clinical standards
* Demonstrates personal accountability and ownership in both words and actions

*Key Responsibilities*
* Perform comprehensive medical eye exams and advanced diagnostic testing.
* Provide routine vision exams, including glasses and contact lens prescriptions and fittings.
* Educate patients on diagnoses, treatment plans, and follow-up care.
* Manage pre- and post-operative care for cataract, glaucoma, and other surgical patients.
* Collaborate with ophthalmologists and optometrists in a team-based, MD/OD-integrated care model.
* Maintain communication and coordination with referring providers in the community.
* Accurately and promptly document all patient interactions in the EMR system.
* Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities.

* Competitive compensation: base salary plus production-based incentives
* Estimated annual earnings: $150,000 – $225,000 (dependent on experience, schedule, and production)

*Qualifications*
* Doctor of Optometry degree from an accredited School of Optometry.
* One-year OD Residency preferred, or a minimum of three years of clinical experience with a history of chronic disease management.
* Licensed Optometrist in Oregon
